SIEVEWELL nanowells are designed to capture single-cells at a high rate. Two pores are positioned at the bottom of the nanowell. After loading of a cell suspension, a directed flow guides cells into the nanowells. When a cell enters a nanowell, it blocks the pores, reducing the flow of liquid through that nanowell. Other cells are then redirected to other empty nanowells.
The hexagonal shape of the wells is optimal for automated cell detection and counting. Its unique structure makes it an ideal solution for on-chip staining of rare single cells, ensuring no cell loss, and for capturing single-cells from suspensions with the MMI CellEctor cell-picking system.
